Awfully late to the party lol, but I think that the internet is little by little becoming a significant job provider. You may think this is only about the big wigs on corporations, but writers, youtubers and all types of content makers are making a living out of this, replacing the traditional 9-5 life (which is clever considering that automation and outsourcing are screwing us up).

Now with that said, we also have to take into account people with fake, misleading, invasive or full of malware adds…Those deserve to be blocked. But blocking everything just because, makes you a lazy and entitled person who believes the internet is some sort of free stuff utopia and that people don’t deserve to make a living out of it. I say strike the bad adds hard, but spare the ones who put food in the plate of good people.

I’ve not seen an ad in three years, since I started using an ad blocker. In fact, when I use someone else’s internet, I get a little startled when I see a pre-roll on Youtube…because I NEVER see them on mine…ad blockers WORK.

well quit making them so invasive and annoying, whole page movies popping up, your ads suck, for instance i would never buy a Hyundia car because that super invasive ad keeps taking over the whole page for a min or so….keep your ads small and off to the side…you are getting no sympathy or support on this…

You mean I might have to pay for the gossip sites? Most of the internet is click baiting pseudo articles intended to feed page views for advertising money. Same corrupt corporate model that is killing every aspect of the united states. Because of ads I now have to load 20 pages instead of a list view on one page. Then when I go to scroll I get sent back up the page because of ad loads. My computer has frozen 3 times in 4 days because I haven’t installed ad block YET. Sketchy sites that bombard ads everywhere on the page, play videos automatically that have nothing to do with the topic. Then you get poor script writing that locks up the browser. How about unethical tracking of users for profits. Computers constantly get faster yet somehow I notice no real increase in speed in the past 15 years. Your marketers do what you think is in your best interest and while you figure out the most ingenious way to stop us in our tracks with a pop up that doesn’t load properly and spies on our patterns we will find ways to block them.

In reply to Darkorbit. Better than that, why don't you condemn yourself to watching every web ad, every TV ad [if you still watch TV] and read every newspaper ad [if you still live in the Dark Ages] and listen to every radio ad. Make it your life's mission. Get back to me on how that works for you.
